1. What is an economics experiment like?
Economics experiments are conducted in a controlled environment, typically involving 16 participants. Upon arrival, you will be assigned cubicle. Before the experiment begins, clear instructions will be given to ensure you understand the procedures and the task. Throughout the session, you will make decisions—primarily using computers—either independently or as part of a group with other participants.
2. What incentives are provided for participants?
Participants will usually receive cash payments as remuneration for the time in the experiment. The amount of cash payment will depend on participants decisions in the experiment.
3. What is the purpose of these experiments?
The primary goal of these experiments is to better understand how people make decisions in different economic settings. The insights gained contribute to academic research in economics and behavioral sciences and are often used to refine economic theories, inform policy decisions, and enhance market analysis.
4. Do I need any prior knowledge of economics?
No prior knowledge of economics or related experience is required. The tasks are designed to be straightforward and easy to understand. You only need to follow the instructions and use basic logic and numerical skills (e.g., basic arithmetic or comparisons) to complete your decisions.
5. Who can register?
Anyone who is at least 18 years old is eligible to register and participate in experiments. No background knowledge in economics or previous experience is necessary.
