- I Man (Dora) VONG
Manager of the Corporate Banking Department Tai Fung Bank
This seminar aims to provide students with a valuable opportunity to connect the theories of money and banking learned in the classroom with practical applications in corporate banking. The seminar features Ms. Dora VONG, who has nearly twenty years of experience in the international banking industry, to share her professional knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as corporate lending, cross-border financing, credit analysis, risk management, and corporate client relationship management.
Through Ms. VONG’s detailed explanation of the operational workflow within a corporate banking division—including loan structuring, the 5C credit analysis framework, credit approval procedures, loan documentation, and post-lending management—students gain an in-depth understanding of how banks support corporate operations and major economic activities.
The seminar also uses real-world cases to demonstrate the key considerations banks evaluate when engaging in cross-border project financing. These include revenue stability, industry competitiveness, risk assessment, collateral requirements, loan tenure, and cash-flow matching. Such examples give students a more concrete and intuitive understanding of how corporate banks conduct project evaluations.
Through discussions and Q&A sessions, students also gain practical insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the banking industry—particularly in the Macau and Greater Bay Area markets. Additionally, Ms. VONG shared valuable career advice drawn from her own professional journey, including how to build expertise in banking, strengthen analytical thinking, and pursue long-term development in the financial industry.
This seminar enables students to deepen their understanding of the essential role corporate banking plays within the financial system beyond classroom knowledge, while offering meaningful guidance and inspiration for those aspiring to develop careers in banking and finance.
